Through My Eyes: A Quarterback's Journey by Tim Tebow

Gr 5–8—Football star Tim Tebow shares his experiences growing up in a missionary family. He and his siblings were encouraged to explore many sports while growing up. Those experiences as well as the character building developed through a strong spiritual and religious upbringing are described at length. His regime of chores on his family's Florida farm are also described in great detail, helping listeners understand the foundation underlying the man most know as a pro football player whose strong religious beliefs make him markedly different from most professional athletes. There are plenty of sports anecdotes to whet the appetites of listeners who dream of following in Tim's footsteps. Narrator Adam Verner has an easy style and pace, making this a comfortable listening experience. However, two things will impact the market and interest for this audiobook. The emphasis on biblical scripture and frequent references to God and his plans for Tim will limit the market and will probably negate the audiobook's purchase by some schools and libraries. Also, Tebow's recent release by the New England Patriots, leaving him without a position in pro sports, creates another damper to potential interest from the target market.—John R.
