She will beguile the Caliph with a wondrous story that must be continued on another day, but as the days progress and she begins to fall in love with this young man, she must decide if she is going to follow the love in her heart or the hatred. This first book in a new historical fiction tale is inspired by A Thousand and One Nights; many listeners may be interested enough to seek out the original. Ariana Delawari's languid narration creates a relaxed environment reminiscent of the book's setting. Listeners who prefer a quicker pace might prefer the print edition.

VERDICT This audiobook would make a good addition to middle school or high school collections.
