The World is A Curious Place To Live

PreS-Gr 3—On her newest album, Lori Henriques mixes her own, often jazz-infused original music with classical tunes such as "Ode to Joy" and "Für Elise," while employing clever lyrics to easily engage the listener. Subjects covered over the 15 songs on this album include the multiple ways of counting (by twos, threes, fours, etc.), science (dinosaurs, the importance of chewing food) and languages (English vocabulary and parts of speech; French and Norwegian). Henriques's expertise in her craft is evident in her ability to use her lone voice and piano to capture and hold the listener's attention. The lively lyrics make learning fun while the diverse musical tones capture the imagination. Children and adults will be singing along in no time.
