Gr 4–6—A dinosaur egg is missing from the Sandy Bay Dinosaur Museum on the Isle of Wight. Several people want it, and a group of five warrior sheep are hot on their trail. This mystery features five Rare Breed sheep that can read and talk. Owned by Ida White, famous for her float-making talents, the sheep are on their way to Penny Pasture on the Isle of Wight, where Ida has been commissioned to create a float for the town's big carnival. Once they are in the pasture, they quickly find a way out. Soon, they are exploring the town looking for clues concerning a dinosaur where they happen upon the museum and the news of the missing egg. After observing a young woman put it in a bag and peddle off on her bike, the group is off on a wild sheep chase all across town. Although the reason and mastermind behind the crime are revealed at the end, throughout the chase, it isn't really clear why the egg was stolen and why so many people want it.
