The Incredible Dadventure and The Mumbelievable Challenge

Gr 2–5—In Dadventure, future explorer Holly, saddled with unusual parents, has 10 coded missions from her dad to accomplish in honor of her 10th birthday. Her mom's Challenge in the second book involves no screens, no electricity, and no running water. Each task is initially daunting, sometimes mysterious, and possibly a little dangerous. Holly completes every one, occasionally with help from a parent, neighbor, or unexpected friend. As she reflects, she finds she's conquered some fears, gained insight about herself, and appreciates the people in her life anew. Narrated perfectly by Katy Sobey, the books feature tasks that are realistic, uncommon, and incredibly humorous. Listeners will frequently laugh out loud at the situations, embarrassing moments, and unfolding drama. Holly and her parents are well developed and extremely likable. As Holly would say, "Brilliant!"
