Gr 9 Up—Starting with an overview of the lymphatic and immune systems, the production progresses methodically through the responses of the first, second, and third lines of defense. The accurate, albeit bland, recital of details is accompanied by bullet points and basic moving visual representations that demonstrate each of the functions and responses. Background music does little to enhance the presentation and may be distracting to some viewers. Although the visuals are simple, they are not always easy to understand because each one is displayed in a small "window," usually without any relation to the body as a whole. Showing representations that link back to bodily systems and processes and supplementing the visuals by including electron microscope photographs would have increased the understanding and value of the information provided. Students will have to get used to the Australian narration and spelling. Schools that subscribe to an educational video service such as Discovery Education or Safari Montage may already have access to better quality content about this topic.—
