Gr 9 Up—This production follows Jen and Grant, a couple from Vancouver, Canada, and their year-long experience to create as little waste as possible. From shopping at farmer's markets and growing their own garden to rinsing out and reusing plastic bags and making their own toothpaste, the competition between these two individuals encompasses all aspects of their lives. Interviews with experts in zero waste living and a graphic artist who visually conceptualizes waste production connect the project to the global issue. The picture and sound quality is excellent. The music (some produced by Grant's band) carries the documentary at a snappy pace. Computer graphics and animation effectively reinforce the film's statements. This inspiring portrait can serve as a springboard for classroom discussion and a motivation for earth-conscious students to make changes in their lives.—Ryan Henry, Daviess County Public Library, Owensboro, KY
