The 39-Storey Treehouse

Gr 2–5—Andy and Terry are lucky enough to live and work in a fantastical tree house. A chocolate waterfall, a dormant volcano, a baby dinosaur petting zoo, and a boxing elephant called The Trunkinator are just a few of the new eccentric levels added to the tree house in this latest installment. A believe-it-or-else museum and a not very merry-go-round are distracting to the author and illustrator protagonists. When Terry draws a "once upon a time machine" that claims to be able to write the book for them, they can't help but be intrigued. However, the time machine locks them out of their own tree house and things take a strange turn. Stig Wemyss's narration is exceptionally well done. While the far-fetched story line will appeal to some, listeners must be able to accept an ultra-whimsical setting with implausible twists and turns.
