COPY ISBN
Gr 3—8—This collection is divided into six sections and includes the familiar stories about of Cuchulain, Finn Mac Cool, and The Kingdom of the Dwarves. "Midar and Etain" includes a brief set of tales of ill-fated lovers. Each section has a number of selections of various length and complexity and feature heroic deeds, fairies, and magical creatures. The illustrations are numerous and cartoonish, adding a dimension of humor to some fairly heavy tales and keeping the action light. The book is best approached in small doses due to its size and the vast number of stories within. Children may find some of the tales engaging while others are a bit tedious. A pleasing addition to folklore collections but not an essential purchase.—C. J. Connor, Campbell County Public Library, Cold Spring, KY
