Gr 1–3—This collection of tales about the Turkish foolish-wise folk hero is attractively illustrated with watercolor and ink cartoon drawings. The stories are two to three pages each, with a few lines of text per page and well arranged with a good amount of white space and copious illustrations. Sometimes the point of the story may be too subtle for young children to understand, but for the most part they will follow the humor.—Judith Constantinides, formerly at East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, LA
