PreS-Gr 4—For each letter of the alphabet, a way to care about someone is presented, from "Adore me" to "Zip with me!" Photographs of stuffed animals set against a solid background enact the language of each letter. In many circumstances, small digital embellishments are added to the toys to aid in depicting each action, such as a computer for "Get in touch with me" and a vibrating cell phone for "Buzz me." The intended audience for this book is unclear. While young children might enjoy having it read to them, some concepts, such as "Quote me" or "Vote for me," seem beyond them. As alphabet books go, this one is supplemental.—Laura Butler, Mount Laurel Library, NJ
In this alphabetic instruction manual about love and companionship, cloth dolls resembling stuffed animals with what appear to be digitally rendered props illustrate attention-demanding directives ("Adore me"; "Buzz me"; "Choose me"; "Dine with me"; etc.). The book is slight, but it could find fans in lovelorn adults or in readers with a soft spot for stuffed animals behaving like people.
