PreS-Gr 2—After a six-year hiatus, Shelton brings her unique, upbeat folk-pop blend to 12 original and traditional songs. There is a fun 1950's rock vibe on "Ice Cream Man," while banjo and fiddle bring a country swing to "Banjo Pickin' Girl," "Jubilee," and "Pony Boy." "Go, Fire Truck, Go," a call and response song and "Wings of a Bird," an interactive movement song during which children can pretend to be birds, fish, crabs, and horses. Accompanying children's vocals on many of the songs add kid appeal.
VERDICT A solid addition to any collection that could easily be used in a classroom or storytime setting.
