Slither Slide, What's Outside?

PreS-K—Watercolor illustrations and photographs, combined with rhyming text, portray the wonder of the outdoors through the seasons. "Bears can be grumpy-they growl when they're mad./They grumble and grizzle and might eat your dad./GRRRRR!" Children work and play together outside, discovering trees, earthworms, waterfalls, rainbows, frogs, geese, pumpkins, snow, and more. Listeners are likely to enjoy the juxtaposition of high-quality nature photos and painted vignettes that show how kids interact with nature and one another. Although the theme of changing seasons is evident in words and pictures, it serves as an organizational structure rather than as a firm focus of the book.
