Sex Facts

Gr 7 Up—Teen-centered vignettes about sex and STDs are presented in five chapters. At the end of each scene, facts and solutions are reinforced for viewers. A variety of STDs are covered, but the message in each chapter is that the use of condoms is essential for all types of sexual contact. One scenario shows a teen couple deciding to reduce stress in their lives by abstaining from sex until they are older. Through discussions with doctors, viewers learn about symptoms of many STDs and their treatments. Another message that is emphasized is the importance of the pre-sex talk about being tested and preventing the spread of disease. Students will relate to the diverse teen actors in the program. Summaries of the scenes, true/false tests, fact sheets, and other activities in pdf format are included on the supplemental CD.
