Gr 2—6—A female host briskly explains many aspects of weather—storms, weather instruments, climate patterns, and weather prediction—in this short program that is chock-full of factual information. Live-action footage, photographs, and simple graphics are used in each segment to explain concepts such as "What is weather?," "What makes weather?," and "What are clouds?" Exciting footage of hurricanes, tornadoes, and lightning will appeal to young viewers. Since an abundance of information is presented at a rapid pace, teachers may want to pause for discussion between segments. It may be difficult for younger students to grasp all the facts, but older viewers should have no problem. A teacher's guide would have been helpful. A fine program to introduce a unit on weather or to use as a culminating activity.—Nancy Baumann, University of Missouri School of Information Science & Learning Technologies, Columbia, MO
