After the traumatic death of her girlfriend, Lilly decides to leave Earth and find a home where she won't be constantly reminded of Eva. Now Lilly is the only human on Satellite, where she is surrounded by aliens. She keeps busy working as a cabbie and a bounty hunter, but soon she receives a dangerous new assignment to take part in a narcotics sting operation. Lilly discovers a much larger threat, and she will have to rely on her alien allies to help her solve the problem before everyone on Satellite is affected. Complicating matters, Lilly's memories of Eva won't stay buried. Lilly is an intriguing protagonist who makes decisions for both selfish and selfless reasons, and Satellite is filled with curious characters. Thompson's artwork brings humans, aliens, and far-out settings to life in an eye-catching and colorful way.
VERDICT For readers looking for an immersive science fiction tale with flawed but empathetic characters and plenty of action.
