K-Gr 5—Jill Jayne, the "Rockstar Nutritionist," brings nutrition into the classroom with this brief film and handy packet of information and activities. The DVD features four short episodes that cover the nutritional value of blueberries, leafy greens, peppers, and beans, as well as ways to eat them. Jill knows that kids sometimes have trouble trying new things, so she reminds viewers that it can take up to ten tries to like a new food. She works with a cool crew of kids who are funny and excited about sharing nutrition information. Bloopers are included, adding some humor to the presentation. The preparation worksheets address issues such as the number of participants, food allergies, time constraints, etc. There are two sets of teacher's guides and worksheets—grades K-2 and 3–5. The guides have step-by-step instructions for presenting food samples, as well as answer keys and instructions for the worksheets.
