PreS-Gr 2—Mr. Billy's album, billed as 11 mellow songs for nap or bedtime, seems more upbeat than relaxing and features instruments ranging from the electric guitar to the ukulele. "Happy Mommy Day" is a sweet tune played on the ukulele. With a theme that is not often set to music, librarians will welcome it for Mother's Day story times. "Counting Freight Cars" is a great tune for reinforcing numbers from 1 to 10 and for counting by 10's and 100's. Through a catchy melody, "13" features the ukulele and introduces some simple math. The young vocalists singing "If I Was a Pirate" are difficult to understand. Among the other songs are "Octopus's Garden," "Bernie the Bubble Breathing Dragon," and "Little Bug Lullaby." Mr. Billy's vocals have a nasal quality in some instances, but the overall effect is satisfactory. Purchase where the Wisconsin-based performer has a following.—
