PreS–A simple look at a cat’s common, everyday behavior. Each page focuses on one activity. The cat scratches the couch, the cat rolls on the rug, the cat hops into a box, and does much more. Illustrations are done in simple black-and-white line drawings with a few bright colors shown on each page. The colors spotlight the main character, drawing the eyes of children to the cat’s actions. In a story hour setting, the reader could ask children to copy the movements of the cat or repeat the word for each action the cat does.
VERDICT An engaging, interactive book with lots of visual appeal that will captivate toddlers, this is a recommended general purchase.
