Perdu

The heartfelt words on the page beautifully complement the illustrations of trendy turquoises and oranges in perfect contrast to the black coat and red scarf of the wee forgotten pup. “He watched a leaf tumble through the air and land with a whispery tap on the water. It danced in the current, spinning and turning as it floated away. That leaf has a place to be, he thought. But what about me?” Perdu’s wanderings take readers through the bustling city and into a little café, where he almost procures a meal before tipping over the table and upsetting a great number of people. Distressed that he hasn’t found a place to be, poor Perdu runs to a field and curls up. A leaf falls beside him as a little girl, who is white, approaches him with his red scarf in hand. Home is found at last!
