Gr 4–6—These are reworkings of titles in Weigl's "Structural Wonders" series. Each slim volume includes the science behind the creation of each structure, brief biographies of those involved in the building, related environmental issues, similar structures around the world, etc. Each book includes an activity and a quiz that is the same or very similar to those in the earlier titles. A new feature is an individual code for each title that allows readers onto the publisher's easy-to-navigate website, which includes extra activities, videos, and web links. It's a fun but, ultimately, extraneous addition; the books offer enough interesting facts on their own. Generally, the clearly presented information is the same as in the older series, but the abundant, bright photographs are new. While these books offer substantial fodder for research and browsing, libraries owning the older titles should think carefully before selecting them as there is barely enough new information to justify owning both.—
