This title presents books for ages 2–18, including fiction, nonfiction, and biographies. Also included are books about couples of mixed heritage and families that include a child of a different heritage and/or nationality. A wide range of geographic regions is covered, with subcategories within each group. Annotated entries are provided for each title, with heritage designation and age category following each one. Author/editor, title, person, and subject indexes are included. Although the titles presented have publication dates ranging from 1954 to 2010, the coverage for 2009 and 2010 is limited. Titles, with complete annotations, are repeated under each heritage category that applies. This makes the book appear to have more content than it actually does. Some of the biographies of contemporary figures are extremely dated. For example, those listed for Mariah Carey have publication dates ranging from 1997 to 2001. In the "Selected References" section, the only websites listed are Amazon and Wikipedia. Mixed-heritage people are among the fastest-growing groups in the United States, and there is a very strong need for a directory of this type. However, this is a disappointing offering, and libraries would be better served by a resource that is more current, better organized, and thoroughly researched.—Francesca Burgess, Brooklyn Public Library, NY
