Some are written as general overviews; others focus on particular experimental or production models as examples. Though the connected narratives create more context for their chosen subjects than corresponding volumes in other, more browser-oriented series, the generalities here are not leavened with enough specific facts and statistics to keep confirmed fans interested. Overall, the reproductions and color and archival black-and-white photos are bland and not sharply reproduced.
