Gr 3–6—Each title first delivers a general introduction to its featured topic and briefly introduces individual women who have made achievements within that field. The result is a fast-paced, information-packed look at how certain women have become pioneers in traditionally male-dominated settings, inspiring girls to follow their dreams. Because so many people are introduced, their profiles are rather thinly sketched. There are many informative "Did You Know" text boxes and captioned color photographs, but indexes and glossaries are glaringly missing. There is a table of contents, but it does not list individual people, only general chapter headings, making it difficult to track the women presented. In short, this set provides a lot of information, but it's difficult to sift through it. A good idea with a slightly weak execution.
