Midwest Heartland: Theodore Roosevelt to the Homestead Act

Gr 6 Up—This program presents a mix of still photos and video footage, allowing viewers to tour some of the Midwest's beautiful national parks and gain a historical perspective and understanding of the wildlife in its natural habitat. Interviews with park rangers provide highlights from the following parks: Theodore Roosevelt, Fort Union Trading Post, and Knife River Indian Villages (North Dakota); Isle Royale, Mackinac Island, Keweenaw, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (Michigan); Apostle Islands National Lakeshore; Grand Portage National Monument, and Voyageurs (Minnesota); Scotts Bluff, Agate Fossil Beds, and Homestead (Nebraska); and Tallgrass Prairie (Kansas).
