Gr 1–3—This adventure is filled with magic, wizards, and dragons, and it seems factual when paired with people and places in Arthur's life. A small text box on the first page says, "We know about Arthur from stories that were written down long ago." This is supposed to clarify where most of the information comes from, yet most children will not be able to differentiate between fact and legend, and there is little flow between the events presented. General statements such as, "Arthur was born in a great castle, like this one" add to the confusion, as does the combination of illustrations and full-color photos, such the one of "Merlin."—Rachel Artley, Watertown Elementary School, TN
