Gr 1–6—Geared toward kids between the ages of 7 and 12, this exercise program contains two workouts: an aerobic hip-hip workout and a slower yoga exercise. Instructor Hassan Christopher takes viewers through a fun 20-minute hip-hop routine. His cues are easy to follow and the moves are not complicated. The hip-hop music and simple steps will keep kids moving and having fun. Liza Savage-Katz presents the yoga workout. To explain proper yoga breathing, she tells children that they should breathe in "peace and compassion" and exhale "worry and fear." The instructors use a diverse group of children to demonstrate the steps, moves, and positions. They perform the routines without being perfectly in sync with the instructors, which is sure to help viewers relax and just have fun, rather than trying to copy the movements with precision. The two workouts are an excellent base to get kids moving and keep them healthy. There's a Spanish option for both routines. These workouts would be ideal for use in gym class or at home.—
