PreS-Gr 1—Less a story than a litany of problems, this book focuses on an African American girl who describes herself as a "klutz extraordinaire." Keilah knows she must be good at something, but everything she tries, from cleaning the house with her mother to working in her uncle's restaurant to helping in her neighbor's garden, ends in disaster. Her friend Gigi is the one who discovers her talent: pouring tea at a tea party. Though the message that everyone is special is admirable, the conclusion lands with a thud, and the illustrations have the garish excess of a Saturday morning cartoon.—Kathleen Kelly MacMillan, Carroll County Public Library, MD
