Gr 9 Up—Job Search dispels commonly held myths about searching for jobs, such as the belief that sending out resumes result in a job interview, that you should always take the first job you are offered, and that all jobs are advertised. The production is divided into seven chapters: "Getting a Job Interview," "Advertised Jobs," "Who Gets the Job?," "Job Qualifications," "The First Job offer," "Changing Jobs," and "Marketing Yourself." Although some tacky animation and flickering lights initially distract viewers, the information provided is useful for both high school and adult job seekers. The live-action sequences illustrating each job-seeking myth are well done, but would have been more effective if they had featured younger people. This could be a useful tool for high school libraries that don't subscribe to commercial databases, such as
Career Cruising, which cover may of the same topics.—
