PreS-Gr 2—On her newest album, The Good Ms. Padgett addresses a group of topics that children will easily understand, such as the solution to a tattling problem, the importance of doing necessary tasks without complaining, and how to conquer the fear of monsters. Sillier subjects are also included, such as the fact that trees don't need sippy cups and how to get rid of bad dreams about people stealing candy. The combination of kiddie rock/punk and lullabies is unique. Separately, each song is enjoyable, but occasionally the flow between a more upbeat song and a lullaby is jarring. Padgett has a gentle, wistful voice that really shines on the softer songs ("Les Petits Poissons") and the title song, "If We Must We Must." A worthwhile addition to any collection.—
