This inner self is depicted as a cuddly, oversized, bunny-like imaginary friend who is always right behind the child, giving affection and support. Each friendly, watercolor illustration’s mantra begins with “I love myself when—” which is followed by an action, activity, or feeling the child experiences. The repetition reminds readers that self-love is a mindset to be continuously practiced and repeated.
