PreS—This story is predictable but nicely told and sweetly illustrated as a mother gives various reasons for why she loves her baby as they go about their day shopping, baking, and doing laundry together. It's a combination of Helen Oxenbury's baby books and Mem Fox's
Harriet, You'll Drive Me Wild (Houghton, 2003). The toddler makes messes throughout the busy day, but the mother emphasizes that she loves her child unconditionally. The text to illustration ratio is just right, making the book perfect for baby storytimes and as a general purchase for picture-book collections.—
