PreS—A boy describes his imaginary friend, Vladimir, who lives in Iceland ("Although sometimes he lives next door") and has many pets. During the day, they spend time together eating, playing, and traveling. At bedtime, they fall asleep together. This is a very confusing book. The story doesn't flow properly, the font changes haphazardly, and the narration is uninteresting. Some of the collage illustrations are eye-catching, but the colors are dull, and the layout is poorly done.—Tanya Boudreau, Cold Lake Public Library, AB, Canada
