Large clear photos introduce kids to the splendor of nature, while the text covers each park's history, most scenic spots, and unique plants and animals. In each book, Red Fox, who is superimposed on the photos, adds breezy comical asides and bits of trivia. An easy map activity to locate the "lost" Red Fox and a "Leaf Tracker" quiz encourage critical thinking. Although neither the topics nor the perspective is new, this visually appealing series will please both developing readers and slightly older students who love the outdoors.
