PreS-Gr 2—It's autumn, and that means it's time for bears to hibernate. Grizzle Grump is trying to find a nice quiet place to settle in for the winter. Each time he finds a seemingly perfect place, he scratches and sniffs, teeters and totters, and flops down to rest. Before long, though, there is some other woodland creature "nik-noking," "whap-whumping," or "eeerp-meerping." It's not until Grizzle Grump hikes to a cave at the top of a mountain that he is able sleep soundly. His loud snoring, however, won't allow any other creature to sleep! Adorable and hilarious Photoshop and colored pencil illustrations match the text perfectly. The repetition and sound effects ensure that children will love this shared one-on-one or read aloud, any time of day.
VERDICT This book won't get much rest on the library shelves.
