K-Gr 2—Many children are all too familiar with the childhood woe of having a disagreement with a best friend, and this protagonist is no different. This book tells the story of a little boy who has an argument with his best friend, Quentin. As the book starts, it's unclear why the two are no longer friends, but the nameless protagonist quickly introduces readers to other children who could soon take Quentin's place. By the tale's conclusion, the boys are best friends again. The illustrations are rendered in subdued colors that will fail to grab the attention of young readers. There is a guide provided at the end for parents to talk with their children about peer conflict and resolution. While this book may appeal to those who want to introduce children to the idea of friendship and fighting, it is a supplemental purchase at best.—
