PreS-Gr 3—In their latest offering, Charity and the JAMband once again celebrate the important message of love, compassion, and understanding. Lead singer Charity Khan's clear vocals shine on tunes that range in style from the children's version of metal to those with a more pop/folk sound. Often backed by just one or two instruments, Khan's lyrics emphasize the importance of being grateful for the things that you have, helping others, and finding the joy in life. Also included in the collection are songs that address fun topics that all children can relate to like bike riding and eating ice cream. Never didactic, but always offering a positive message, this album would be useful with classes of younger children when teaching lessons related to anti-bullying, self-confidence, and the importance of community.
