Gr 3–6—Covering the 30 Major League Baseball teams, sportswriter Dobrow provides interesting facts and a brief history of each team. The author organize the teams into leagues, which are further broken down by regions. The sections are ordered by each team's standing at the end of the 2014 season. Each section contains a general trivia page (with information such as baseball terms or snacks found at different stadiums) and concludes with three simple quiz questions. Because these fun facts are so random and scattershot, it remains to be seen what the future editions might include. The title ends with four pages of Jeter's statistics and refers readers to an online webpage that provides additional quizzes and printable baseball activities. Though the book is in black and white, the serviceable pen and ink drawings and the use of trivia questions throughout (with answers printed upside down at the bottom of the page) will keep readers interested.
VERDICT Despite a few missteps in a field crowded with baseball trivia books, this quick read will appeal to browsers.
