PreS-Gr 3—Chuck Cheesman's folksy debut album features his rich, mellow baritone and excellent guitar picking on ten original and three traditional songs ("Aunt Rhody," an instrumental piece, "Crawdad Song," and "Love Somebody"). Additional musicians give outstanding performances on a variety of instruments, including guitar and steel guitar, banjo, mandola, bass, organ, saxophone, drums, and percussion. A couple of songs also feature some wonderful harmonica solos. A variety of musical styles are featured, including folk, rock, folk rock, bluegrass, blues, and country. The playlist includes "Seafood Song," "Dancing with No Shoes On," "Snow Day," "Chocolate-Covered Brussels Sprouts," "Halloween Freak Out," "Milkstache Blues" (because there are no cookies), "A Big Dog Ate My Homework," and others. An excellent album for the whole family.—Beverly Wrigglesworth, San Antonio Public Library, TX
