PreS-Gr 1—A young girl looks for wild animals as she investigates the roars, quacks, squeaks, and other strange noises that she hears in her house. "Daddy sat on a duck at dinner one night. 'Excuse me!' he said, which I thought was polite. I know that if somebody sat on MY back, I'd be angry enough to let out a big QUACK!" The girl soon discovers that her father can sometimes be noisy, messy, hairy, and stinky. But she also enjoys the games, snuggles, and kisses from him. A note to readers suggests, "Try making the noises. You won't be disappointed." The digitally created images are a bit raunchy at times and in one picture the father is shown with a can of beer. There is a lack of consistency in the portrayal of the child's age.
