K-Gr 1—The fourth installment in the "Channel Blue series" offers readers a cartoon illustrated story about some beachy animal surfers. The plot follows a surfing competition about two rivals who battle the ocean elements to win the contest and who ultimately become friends. The characters are richly drawn but lack textual details to give them depth. The illustrations are vivid and detailed, though the rhyme scheme is forced.
