The pictures support the text for the most part. A list of three additional facts is appended but occasionally overlaps the main text. End matter includes a special code for a newly developed website with crafts, games, a short video, more photos, and carefully chosen websites. Though the material is sparse, the simple sentences, appealing images, and large format will make these a hit.
These short volumes introduce new readers to four popular dog breeds, giving basic facts about the dogs' personalities and appearance as well as some trivia about each breed. The text is straightforward and informative, though it can be oddly anthropomorphic ("Jack Russell terriers are kind"). A clean-looking design, with generous white space, smartly keeps the focus on large, adorable stock photos. Glos., ind.
