Building Your Business Online

49.95.
The Biz Kids interview children and teens who have started online businesses. Each chapter features a young entrepreneur who explains some of the benefits of building an online business. For example, the founding partners of MyYearbook.com describe how their site created a million dollar business in three years. A nine-year-old boy explains how his age was not a deterrent in building an online business. The possibility of global business is covered by a teen who sells t-shirts. Other segments offer advice pertaining to online safety, time management, and more. There are some practical tips for website owners, like how to sift through statistical information, but the video only glosses over the big issues in starting an online business. How to register a domain, design a site, and obtain a host are only mentioned briefly, with no details about the technicalities involved. There is also no advice on how to obtain the credit necessary for starting a business. This program could be used by students enrolled in a number of business courses where instructors can provide additional information.–Pamela Schembri, Newburgh Enlarged City Schools, NY
