Baby-Toddler–Playful rhymes for babies and toddlers are accompanied by colorful illustrations in this British import. Cheerful, full-bleed digital watercolor illustrations accompany each rhyme and feature children of diverse races and abilities. The text is reminiscent of Mother Goose–style nursery rhymes, albeit with much less familiarity. Suggested actions encourage caregivers to clap, tap, and play along with young listeners. The topics include a wide range of subjects such as jungle animals, farm animals, bees, playtime, camels, clowns, and more.
VERDICT A useful purchase for collections in need of new and different action rhymes.
