Gr 8 Up— Leader and Making Friends cover social skills that some people just possess. However, they assure readers that others can learn them. Listen, Right Words, and Nonverbal fit together well, enabling readers to acquire tools to enhance interpersonal relationships. Professional discusses the importance of making and keeping both personal and professional contacts. The volumes touch on the value of face-to-face interactions versus online relationships. The text contains a few minor typos and poor punctuation. All the books suffer from careless illustrations due to the placement of the stock color photos—entire people disappear into the gutter. The titles end with resource lists of organizations; most are logical, but some (especially in Making Friends) are too specific to be useful to a broad audience.
