Gr 2–5—This series expands on Suzanne Slade's Let's Go Fishing (Rosen/PowerKids Pr, 2007). Readers get a serviceable overview of necessary equipment, safety precautions, types of fish they can expect to see, and competitions, where applicable. The author touches on the impact of pollution and overfishing and describes the catch-and-release method. Photos are plentiful and all include captions, but they are not diverse in gender and cultural representation. A couple of typos are irksome, but do not significantly detract from the overall content. Everything in these books is covered in Capstone's "The Great Outdoors" (2008) or "Wild Outdoors" series (2011).
