PreS—Barney, Baby Bop, Riff, and B.J. are four dinosaurs who like to play and use their imaginations. With their young friends, they engage their creativity to draw, sing, play, and dance. Through music, they teach children to share, care, imagine, and learn new things. There are four episodes: "Imagine That!," "Seeing," "Let Your Creativity Fly," and "Let's Go for a Ride." The songs are catchy enough for children to sing along with the dinosaurs. The use of hand gestures, clear voices, and song repetition are perfect for teaching and reinforcing pre-literacy skills such as phonological and shape awareness and vocabulary. The same beginning and ending songs are also good educational cues to help children learn how to tell when a story starts and ends. Using their imaginations, Barney and his friends visit wonderful places, bring a painting to life, explore a tropical island, and build a bus and airplane. Although the sets are fairly low-tech and simple, they are appropriate for the story line and will entice young children. Perfect for adult/child interaction in a classroom or at home. For all early childhood collections.—
