Gr 2–5—Compiling his most popular drills, Marty Schupak has created a youth sports program. Parent or volunteer coaches looking for easy and inexpensive ways to focus on baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and golf skills will find this program helpful. There are several drills per sport, and each is highlighted for less than one minute, making them convenient to watch repeatedly. Unfortunately, the DVD has only one chapter option, so it's difficult to queue up a section without fast-forwarding or rewinding. Coaches will like the incorrect and correct positioning shown. All of the skills are taught on a budget and done in a driveway or backyard, so the exercises will be easy for novice or experienced coaches. Physical education teachers could use this to break down a skill for teaching purposes, but it is best suited for coaches of youth teams. While the back cover indicates that viewers will learn how to make a $300 batting net for $25, this option is missing from the DVD.
VERDICT An additional selection for schools and more appropriate for a public library collection.
