PreS-Gr 3—The Cat's Pajamas, led by Janet Schreiner and Heath Allen, present 11 songs on their fourth album. Several are covers of numbers by Peter and Ellen Allard, John McCutcheon, and Tom Chapin, while the rest originated with the band members. The vocals are very appropriate for the bouncy, upbeat tunes, and the background musicians perform with excellence on keyboards, guitar, bass, flute, harmonica, trumpet, drums, and percussion. The tunes are in a variety of musical styles, including rock, jazz, blues, and calypso. While "Driving in My Car," one feels like a movie star. Dad is very focused on "Shovelin'" snow, while the child wants to build snowmen and make snow angels. "Humpty Dumpty" also includes several other nursery rhymes. The rest of the playlist includes: "How Many People in a Family," "Funky Bears," "Take Time Out" (handling frustration), "I Love My Toes" (and other parts of the body), "Five Little Buns," "Building a Better World," "Alphabet Soup," and "Just an Old Jalopy" (broken down at the side of the road). A fun listening experience for the whole family.—Beverly Wrigglesworth, San Antonio Public Library, TX
