Chapman suggests "Hiss like a snake…ssssss." And then the fun begins. Animal babies bounce, "baaaa," and "quack." An octopus wearing star-shaped sunglasses is shown clapping and drumming. Each animal is brightly colored and fills the page with animated expression. The large-type, minimal text simply highlights the action. Baby Can… ends with many of the animals crowded together to wave. Baby Goes… lists the animal sounds in alphabetical order, ending with "zzzzz…."
